Description
Things we will learn:
- Honeycomb is closely related to so many other 4 shaft structures we've already studied: Monk's Belt, Overshot, Halvdrall, Deflected Double Weave & Huck.
- The Honeycomb is created by framing the units (cells) with a heavy weft thread, woven on one or two picks of plain weave.
- One side of the fabric has predominant warp floats and the other side has predominant weft floats.
- We will be reminded of just how powerful a 4 shaft loom is (my favourite part)
- Honeycomb can be woven on many different threadings.
- We can frame a project by combining different threadings.
- We can change the tie-up to achieve vertical cording.
- We can change the tie-up to achieve floats on one side and plain weave on the other.
- We can weave it like Monk's Belt.
