Challenging our thoughts around tabby and pattern weft, double pattern picks, and using the same weight of yarn for both tabby and pattern has resulted in an added textural bonus that not only changes the weight of the fabric but the richness of contrast between light and dark. Then, finally going in the other direction, working with a finer weft, increasing the number of picks of plain weave between the pattern blocks ending up with gorgeous dreamy scarf-weight fabric.
Things we will learn:
- How to overlay C&W sequences on Monk's Belt.
- How we can challenge our ideas around Monk's Belt treadling and balance
- How to weave super thick placemats with only 2 shuttles.
- How we can get lovely drapey scarves on the same warp without changing the sett.
