Bronson Spot has so much design potential for the 4-shaft weaver. It is the only lace structure on 4 shafts where we can have 3 units, which means we can use twill profiles to inspire our shapes. All that twill stuff we learned last season can now be brought forward and overlayed onto this lace structure. We will also learn how to create blocks and add colour and weave to the mix. So much fun, so easy to get carried away :)
Things we will learn:
- That Bronson Spot gives us 3 units on 4 shafts
- That if we use all 3 units on 4 shafts, we lose the ability to have plain weave selvedges.
- That we can thread half units for selvedges and they look great :)
- That we can use our twill knowledge to design shapes
- That it can have 4 thread units or 6 thread units for finer yarns
- That we can have diagonal lines and blocks all in the same piece.
