These skeins of silk have minor imperfections such as striation.
Hand dyed 20/2 Tussah Silk is available in 100 g skeins with 1,100 yds/skein (5,000 yds/lb).
Tussah is naturally a soft beige and is produced by tussah silkworms that feed on oak leaves and other leaves rich in tannin. The yarn, when overdyed, produces a muted version of the same colours used on our Bombyx silk yarns.
Our 20/2 Tussah silk has a lovely soft ply and is suitable for medium fine scarves. For optimum drape we sett it at 20 epi for Plain Weave and 24 for Twill. Check out Jane’s Master Sett Chart for ideas and setts for combining silk with other fibres.
