Pushing the Boundaries of Plainweave

Pushing the Boundaries of Plainweave

This is the 2nd workshop in our series.  In this workshop we learn to play with our reed and really build up our technique.  We explore denting which is all about leaving empty spaces in the reed and cramming and denting which is about multiple sleyings in one piece of cloth.  Dense in one spot and open in another…it is all done with the reed.  We explore Warp Faced fabrics and Weft Faced…which are all controlled by the reed.   Our reed controls the warp but our technique controls the weft, so we’ll learn to adapt our technique in different situations.  Our explorations are all done on linen and cotton.  You might as well get your fear of linen out the way right at the beginning.  See you there.

Cost $850.00 This includes all materials and lunch.
