I am planning a scarf with the Zephyr merino/silk combo. I was hoping you could suggest a weave structure. I do not want to experiment with this yarn! I am using three colours in the warp so the appeal of the project will be in the colour and the feel of the scarf. I have recently finished two scarves in bambu with a reverse twill. I am not totally satisfied with the drape and I am a bit worried about the threads that are 3/1 catching. Hoping for a little advice with the merino/silk project.
Here are some lovely pieces woven in Zephyr. This is a 3/1 turned twill sett at 24 epi.
This is a deflected plain weave sett at 20 epi.
Those are generally good setts for Zephyr. We recommend 20 for open plain weave and 24 for twill. Hope this helps.
