If you are having trouble with the shafts on your Jane loom not returning to their lower position you may need to add 2 extra knots to the black elastic cords that pull your shafts back down. This will probably only have to be done the original Jane looms where we used a thinner elastic.
I used a kitchen skewer to get the knot out of the groove and then just yanked on the elastic to tie the extra 2 knots. Then I squished the knots back into the groove.
