I must be doing something wrong with my 8 shaft Delta. I am putting on the tie-up chords for the treadles. The book says (and that is the case) that there are 60 of the long and short chords. There are sixty, but that seems to not be enough. 8 shafts mean 10 treadles which, by my calculation would mean 80 chords of each length. I can’t quite get my head around what I am doing wrong, and I have run out of chords. Can you help me?
Don’t put all the cords on….you don’t know where you need them until you do your tie-up. It is easy to make mistakes when you have them all on. Just put on a warp and tie-up only what you need for that project and then you add and subtract and move them around when you change it.
