  5. Problem with beater on the Jane Loom

I have just purchased a Jane loom and I know I am going to love using.  However, I am having a problem with the beater which is touching the right side of the loom and has a gap of about 0.5 cm on the left.  Consequently, it makes an annoying scraping sound each time I beat and I am afraid of damaging the wood on the right. I am reluctant to try and bend the arms. Is there a simple way of solving the problem?

Don’t bend the beater arms.  One side is just tighter than the other.  All you have to do is loosen both the little bolts that attach the beater at the top of the beater arms.  Then re-tighten them a little bit on each side.  That should even it out.
