I hope you don’t mind me contacting you. I’m having trouble advancing the warp on my David. How is it done using the Friction Brake? Somehow I’m just not doing it right…
You lift up the lever with your right hand and advance the cloth beam with your left. You have to make sure that the toggle on the back ratchet is disengaged or it won’t move at all. If the toggle is disengaged and it still won’t move then you need to loosen the whorled nut on the screw that is attached to the friction brake itself.
