Hi Cathy,
No, I haven’t dressed my loom for this yet — my daughter made a request for something and I’m working on that first. And I’ve ordered an 8-dent reed, so if it ever gets here I’ll be using the suggested size.
Sorry I couldn’t help!

0Thanks Ginette.
I’ve also been told that the Harrisville Shetland is sticky so maybe would be better to not have 3 ends in a dent? I think I’ll take a length of the yarn and run it back and forth through the 12-dent reed to see how much abrasion there is.
Guess I’ll just have to do some sampling 🙂

0Hi all,
My question is regarding reed choice. I don’t have an 8-dent reed but have a 6 and a 12. Would it be better to use the 6 (sley 2-3-3) or the 12 (sley 1-1-2) to achieve my 16 epi? Or does it matter? I’m using the kit, so Harrisville Shetland.
Thanks! — sue b
0August 21, 2018 at 2:57 pm in reply to: Season 2: Episode 7 – All About Stripes – Stripe Sample #47620I’m weaving the scarf from Episode 7, using bambu weft at 18 ppi and am wondering how one should wet-finish it? Would washing in the machine damage the bambu? Or a hot soapy soak to get the cotton to shrink and settle? Hard press like tencel?
Thanks in advance! 😉

0Hi all, I’m Sue (breadwoman on Ravelry), pretty much a beginning weaver, being primarily a spinner. I started with a rigid heddle loom last year and graduated to an 8-shaft Mighty Wolf a couple of months ago. I’m still on my first post-sampling project and look forward to learning along with the rest of you!
