could you use landscape fabric to wind your warp on instead of paper? or is the idea for the threads to slide easily on the paper? I just thought it might be easier with the thin fabric and its fairly cheap .

October 16, 2020 at 9:20 am in reply to: Thoughts on 2.1 – Dressing Your Loom Back to Front – Warping a Loom 1, cotton boucle warp #181239i have a loom made by a small company. I am looking to buy a raddle. I seen you’re black one online in 4 inch sections. can i attached that to a different style loom? also i am not understanding how to spread the warp out on the raddle. you say don’t split the sections. Is that meaning the color groups as well?
I am curious as to what happens to the header when you take it off the loom. Does that get cut off? I still very new. and how important is a header? would you do a header on a tea towel.
May 2, 2020 at 7:51 pm in reply to: Thoughts on 2.5 – Dressing Your Loom Back to Front – Sleying the Reed #164367Hi, I have bought the kit, Janes favorite towels, I am sleying the reed from front to back and I have had to do it 3 times now because the warp is not in the center. I am following her reed chart because I don’t have the 10 dent reed required. I am using a 8 dent reed. so as I follow the chart it says 3,3,3, in each dent. well my warp is way off , it is almost done and I am not even close to the center. how do I figure out how to center this warp? The second time I sleyed it , I was looking at the chart wrong, I did 2,2,2 and it was out 1.5 inches on each side. should I go back to the 2,2,2 and just move it the 1.5 inches over.
getting ready to give up 🙁
I am unsure how to start the weaving? do you do a few warps then leave a big space then start weaving? I am not seeing in the videos how to start a project. Is there a hem stich in place first or is the hemstitching at the end of a project?
