Looking for info on how to finish this linen sample. I have never used linen before.
Slight confusion here. Page 7 shows how to set up all the treadles for rising shed. However, I have a sinking shed David. If I understand this, I should use the sinking shed tie ups on page 6 instead of those indicated on page 7 for tying up all my treadles. Loom all dressed and ready to play.
I finally made it to towel #7, about halfway done. Looking at the plan for towel #8, I am confused with the instructions starting with “12 picks stripes…Then frame and hem. I am going to see if I can find a visual for it in the at the loom section. We are having rolling blackouts due to weather so very little time to look before losing connection.
Thank you Jane for the explanation. It cleared everything up. In fact so much so, I unwove and rewove it correctly. See the attached picture. Kathleen thank you for your help. I will definitely look at your towels. I am learning so much in the online guild. Can’t wait for the start of this season
Had to show my take on the first session of this year. I have completed all sessions and am planning on the undulating twill scarf soon. I uses the two stripe session to created 6 men’s scarves as Christmas presents. By the time I got to number 5 I was bored with division in two so I did division in three. I used the same sequences in all the scarves, but rearranged their order so each would be different. Hope they like them. Looking forward to lace.

One more question. I am trying to figure rose fashion treadling for the last threading – Advancing threading. Got all the others figured out for rose fashion but can’t wrap my head around Advancing threading. Any help would be appreciated.
I would like to do the samples suggested on the PDF. Number 1 is complete. Number 2 is waiting for me to change the tie up. But I need the tie ups for samples 3, 4 and 5. These weave up quickly.
I have completed the first sample. I understand the tie up for sample 2. Is the tie up for samples 3-5 back to 2/2 same as sample 1?
April 21, 2020 at 8:28 am in reply to: Thoughts on 4.3.2 – Small Threadings Gamp at the Loom #163140Sorry I haven’t gotten back to the group about the final project on the last small gamp threading. As you probably noticed, I used 3 colors. The gray, a light blue, and the red in the weft. The treadling is the same as Jane’s except the blue is tied up as 2/2 twill and the gray is 3/1 – 1/3 twill. This means that each time there is a weft color change, the tie up is changed. So if you look closely, adjacent blue and gray are treadled the same but the tie up i different. I wanted a clear visualization of how treadling and tie up changed the fabric. Lots of work.
April 2, 2020 at 7:52 am in reply to: Thoughts on 4.3.3 – Small Threadings Gamp at the Table #161191I’ve finished playing with the gamp. I challenged myself on this. I want the members of the guild to read the fabric and figure out the weaving. I will post again in a few days about the exact process.

March 25, 2020 at 8:08 am in reply to: Thoughts on 4.3.1 – Introduction to Twill Threadings and Treadlings #160380I want to thank Jane and her staff for the early release of this episode. I was ready for a new challenge as I had just taken a plain weave using sock yarn off my David. And all I have going is some boucle wash cloths on my Jane. Can you tell I’m an adult ADD. LOL

February 20, 2020 at 10:17 am in reply to: Thoughts on 4.2.3 to 4.2.9 – Fiberworks Weaving Software (Windows) #155184I had purchased PCW awhile ago. I was self taught and found a lot of helpful hints in these videos. I enjoyed all the segments. I understand thread thickness, but I wish that there was something to relate the usual terms, such as 8/2 or 2/16, to what is in the program. All in all very happy with this episode.
