Thank you Carol…how did you wind the supplementary warp on?
So annoyed with myself! I just finsihed threading through the warp and thought it looked too narrow! Realised I hadn’t wound a whole colour of 24 threads!! Any suggestions? My thought at the moment is to weave and then put two halves together.

Hi Jane,
You mentioned that it would be fine to use any yarn for the denting technique. I would like to use up some of my 8/2 cotton which i bought for Season 1…but my little mind is going nuts trying to convert the sleying…advice please?
DebbieThank you so much for your responses…it was that I was beating too hard. Now much better!

Hello
I weave on a David and generally love it, though have to remember to change the lifts.
I’m having a problem though…weaving with a fairly thick yarn, wool 2 ply, like shetland. Twill set up and it just seems to come out as weft face …I’ve tried tabby but also doesn’t weave up properly…can’t make out what I’m doing wrong. Love my yarn and colours so want it to work! Especially as its supposes to be a Christmas present!ie

Does anyone have any advice or good ideas on how to do the maths when dividing the colours to fit into a particular width? i.e. I have five different colours that I want to fit into a 38″ wide weave…i know that I don’t want all the colours to be the same width, Fibonacci design..but how to work it easily would be a great help?

Ok so…when I get to DDDD/LLLL do I need four cones of dark and four of light? How do you hold that many in one hand? Have I miunderstood something??
Thanks! Debbie
Thank you for your response..yes it was a typo…I meant 8/2…I think I’ve sorted it. Cut the warp off…re:threaded it on a 12″ dent and retyed it…looking and feeling a lot better…most importantly the selvedges are doing Ok as well. I never realised how challenging doing a tabby weave can be. Good to be learning from mistakes!

Hello…I’ve racked up the tension but still having problems…I’ve threaded on a 10″reed, 2 to a dent with 10/8 cotton. Should I have a 12″ reed, would that make any difference?
Debbie.
Thank you…that does seem to be the problem. Do you have suggestions about how to put more tension on the warp now that I’ve already started to weave or do I have to cut and re;tie?
Debbie
Please can you suggest a way to send a picture as the image won’t load onto this forum…toomuch MGB I believe.
February 26, 2018 at 1:15 pm in reply to: Season 2, Episode 2 – More on Division of Space & the Asymmetry Sample #40953I’ve always loved working with Fibonacci numbers but the way you demonstrate it makes it so more accessible. Thank you! I have a question re: the re:saying though. Did you thread to that width originally..or did you widen in later to crate a different sett and feel of cloth? If so..how? Thanks…Debbie.
Hi …So ..I don’t quite get it? Do I completely cut the warp and then re:sley at a wider width?
e.g. i currently have a warp on at 20epi and its 12″ wide in the reed. In order to widen it to 14″ or 16″ how many epi do I sley in the reed..or does it stay the same?
Thanks.
Debbie CarnegieHello Jane,
After watching your very interesting video on widening the warp I’m wondering if I could use that technique for making a looser weave to match a firmer placemat design on the same warp? Hope that makes sense?
Thanks
