I used a 5 dent reed for this project, sleyed 3-3-3-4 and wet finishing removed all irregularities in the spacing.BlanketBeforeAfter

This was just magical, from creating a double layer of fabric on the loom to the transformation that washing and brushing made. I wanted a blanket, so increased the width in the reed to 24″ and wove about 75″ on the loom. (I was so excited to wet finish I forgot to measure off loom before washing). Finished size is 37 1/2  x 59.IMG_4657crop

Thank you. I think I’ll have room to play on this warp with the tie-ups and try out the dance, as you say. It seems silly, but of all the steps and stages of weaving, the act of changing the tie-up is my least favorite bit.

Sue – Have you tried the double width in your 12-dent reed? I only have a 12 dent for the loom I’d prefer to use, but have an 8-dent for my smaller loom. If you’ve been successful using the 12 dent, I would attempt it, too.
