Hello Sandra, I see you answering all the questions. Would you mind telling us a bit about yourself and how you became a keymaster. Probably people who come to Jane’s classes know you well, but the online community mostly have no idea. Thank you!

Hi Inga,
I’m certainly not answering all the questions – I couldn’t! Jane has answered a couple but we’re hoping that you will all help each other along and give Jane the time to focus on creating and filming the upcoming episodes 🙂
I’m Warpnweft, the moderator of Jane’s Ravelry Group I hope the link I attached works. I’m also Fibrelady on Ravelry in my chatty hat. I helped Jane create her Helpline through which Jane shared a wealth of information. I don’t live on Salt Spring or work in her Studio 🙁 but live in Vancouver, a ferry ride away from Jane on the British Columbia mainland. I weave, spin, dye, knit and am fascinated by all things textile. However, I’m not a prolific weaver and am learning a lot from watching her Online Guild videos, like everyone else.

Thank you Sandra. I admired your beautiful tea towels and napkins the other day (did not know it was you). Yes, I know Jane is answering questions, but we all know who Jane is. Lucky you living so close to Jane’s workshop.

HI Sandra,
Thank you for letting us know that you have two names on Ravelry. I thought I was going mad.:) Some of my in-laws have two names also and at first, I thought my husband had many more sisters and brothers than he did. And speaking of names, I find it interesting that my son, Amr, who registered me, has his name as my user name.
” A rose by any other name would smell as sweet.” 🙂

I guess you aren’t as nosy as I am Alaa 😉 I love checking out the profiles of our Ravelry Group, seeing where they live, what their interests are, etc. It makes the members a real gathering of weavers to me. On both my Fibrelady and Warpnweft profiles I ‘fess up to my split personality. I guess that originally I thought that having a separate name as moderator gave a different “identity” for important posts. I’m glad I did because, as Warpnweft, I’ve been able to have a dedicated place to keep all our Ravelry exchanges, including the one you took part in!

I don’t know where else to ask this so I’m going to stick it here. Is there some place I can change my forum settings so the most recent comment is at the end of the thread instead of the first post you see? I’m so used to reading it the other way on other forums and sometimes I forget that I need to start on the last shown comment instead of the top one. Thanks

Hi Jill,
The question of order of the posts was something that was discussed as the Forum came live at the beginning 😉 I guess we thought if the newest post was at the top, it was something like email where the newest post is there to catch your eye. As each thread gets longer, it’s a “trip” of several pages to get to the most recent post.

You guys are doing a smashing good job. Thanks for making this happen.
Small request: would it be possible for the email notifications go to the post they refer to? I noticed that my email notification links are going to oldest page (for example, page 3 in the episode 2 discussion).

Thanks for you input, Raven. When Jane is back in her Studio after her fabulous time in India, we’ll talk about possible ways to tweek the Forum.

Is there some kind of guide to the forum organization and posting guidelines ot are we all playing it by ear? Someone in the introductions topic mentioned adding a bio to her profile, which maybe just appears after the first post is made?? Anyway, I’ll try that.

Yup, that answers one question, the profile is created with the first post.
