Hi, I’m about to begin a new project that will be warp-faced with many colors–a bit of a spectrum. I’ve never done this before and wonder if there you have wisdom on changing colors. I have a floor mill and assume I’ll warp with 2 to 4 threads then switch some colors out at the bottom. I’ve studied a rug that someone else wove and I’ve always like it. So I thought I’d make my own version. Thoughts? Thanks, Janet
Hi Janet – don’t forget that if you have four threads in your hand and they are all going through your cross together, when you get to threading your heddles, you can mix them up there as well. And, as you said, you can switch colours out at the bottom of the warp. Have fun warping!
