I’m a bit confused about the warping and subsequent threading of the colour and weave gamp. If you wind using Jane’s techniques, say on the DDDL section as an example, you will get groups of 4 in each part of the cross (instead of single threads). As the cross is used to ensure that the threading of the heddles is done in the correct order, isn’t there a high likelihood that there will be issues with the threading order? I wonder if I have missed something?
Jane has talked about that and in a nutshell, she says that as long as you keep the group of threads together in the section of your lease sticks, you can move them around in that group. For instance, if they are black, white, black, white – you could thread the heddles for that group black, black, white, white. You just can’t move them over to another section of your lease sticks. Make sense?
