Awesome! Now I think there are about three different looms that I want to purchase! (Or at least go and play with to know for sure.)

I need to buy a warehouse that will house all of the looms that I have and still want to get. That Jane is a sweetie!

I have a first generation Jane – before they were called Jane. Do you know if it will it fit the stand? I have it on a table but it doesn’t feel ideal…. Keeping my fingers crossed.

Good morning, Kristin. I wish I had a definitive answer for you. I’m assuming you mean a Louet Kombo. The stands for the Jane are designed to fit the 40cm and the 70cm sized looms and exactly fit each sized loom. Maybe if you asked your question on the JST Forum, more people would likely see it and might have a suggestion for you.

I just purchased a Jane 70 and it should arrive next week. So excited….
Wish I could see you warp it….just for kicks!

I love my Jane table loom. So much easier to get into the back of the car vs attempting to load the floor loom.

Do people who own Jane looms have them as their primary loom or just for workshops?

You’ve asked a “that depends” question, Janet 😉 If someone adds a Jane to a family of looms in their home/studio – I would imagine it would be for workshops – they are awesome in that situation. However, if you are like me with the room for only one floor loom, then a Jane would be a wonderful addition and opportunity to have more than one warp in progress at a time!

I have only just got an Erica 30 but now know the Jane might be my grown up version, I do not and I don’t think ever will have the space for a floor loom, houses in the UK are a bit on the small side

I haven’t always had a lot of room, Karen. Up until the last of our 3 sons moved out (for the last time) was I able to get a space for a used floor loom. That loom eventually moved out and a Louet David moved in. However, my constant was my table loom on a stand – right now it has a 10 yard warp on it and it can do anything I want it to do! The “Jane” can be that loom for you!

Another question while I am thinking, if I buy a larger Jane loom am I still able to do things that are only narrow, ie if I buy the 50 cm is it ok for 30 cm warps, I have found on rigid heddles a too narrow warp does not work as well.

If you went with a 70, you’d be able to weave tea towels, wide scarves, etc. There is a lot you can do with 70 cm, weaving items from 30 cm right through to the width of your reed. It doesn’t cost that much more to get the additional width.

I’m happy you covered table looms! I just upgraded from my rh to the Ashford 32″ 8 shaft that can add the floor treadles eventually, but for now it’s good on my back and hips to use the levers. I almost got the Jane, how interesting the design is from your ideas! <3

I bought a used Jane 70/ 8 shafts. I am having a difficult time with keeping the heddles even…they keep getting out of wack. I also have a difficult time with keeping the bottom threads being tight…when I throw the shuttle it invariable falls through the shed. I am so disappointed. I bought this hoping it would be a great loom to travel with. My daughter and I have watched over and over again the assembly video…Also the swing bar doesn’t seem to grasp the arms to hold in the velcro reed…the arms do not become wedged in the groove. Do you have any suggestion on how to remedy these problems. I have had one Facebook friend suggest I leave the lease sticks in the shed on the back beam…I have put slats in the tabby sheds and this seems to help keep the bottom thread tighter. I am sick that I spent all of this money and having so much difficulty….I watched you video and thought I should have bought the Jane since it folded so nice for travel. Please let me know if you can help me…I also am not sure how low the heddles should be…maybe I have the heddles up too high…

Hi Rosie – congratulations on your new to you Jane! The first thing you could do would be to check the questions that others have asked over the years and that Jane has answered. They can be found on the Knowledge Base under the topic Louet Loom Specific Questions – there is a section on the Jane loom. Some questions may not be relevant but some might send you in the right direction. Hope this helps. Let us know.

Just taken my first trial project off my new Jane 70 (I think I got the last one in the UK before Brexit!). This loom is delightful. So easy to use – all those nifty little design features make it an absolute joy. Rosie (in the question above), you might want to get onto some Facebook groups – they are so helpful – I had a few teething problems after setting my Jane up, now all easily sorted 🙂
