Thank you…wonderful, and inspirational, as usual. This episode answered so many questions I’ve been struggling with of late. This whole season for me has been the best yet. I just have to catch up with the practice now!

FYI: Â Peter Collingwood has made his 2 rug books available as PDFs for free at https://www2.cs.arizona.edu/patterns/weaving/books.html. If you decide to download, use your computer, not tablet. They are good size files. Justine

Would it be ok to substitute 9/12 seine twine for the 4/12 linen?

Hi Joan – the cotton is a wee bit finer than the linen so you might have to change your sett slightly. Try a sample, it’s an easy warp to wind and and try.

In K #4- how did you end up with the skinnier stripes in the middle?

I have a Dumas 8 harness table loom, should I flip the tabs for each 4 harness as they are called for during each pic, or use the other harnesses and thread them thru multiple heddles for the various combinations to make the floor treadles?

Hi Scottie,
I’m not familiar with a Dumas table loom so hopefully someone that knows can chime in. Flip the tabs on your loom the same way that’s written on the pattern draft. You only want to thread 4 of your 8 harnesses and each heddle will have one thread only, the same as a floor loom. The only difference is that your tabs are your treadles.
On page 3 of the PDF with the arrow going to the right, you’ll flip your 1 & 2 harnesses together, then your 2 & 3 harnesses, 3 & 4, and last 4 & 1 then repeat as needed.
Hope that helps!
