Can you please tell me where Zephyr (50% merino and 50% silk) comes in the Master Yarn Chart, so I can gauge the correct sett for a project?

Hi Joy, you’ll find Zephyr on the bottom of page 4 of Jane’s Master Sett Chart.

I can see Zephyr in the middle of page 3 of Jane’s Master Sett Chart.  It is implying that this zephyr is 2/30 silk with no merino in the mix.  I am confused.  The reason I am asking is because I don’t have any Zephyr, but I do have other yarns that might be comparable.  I’d like to try the gamp in this episode with yarns that are somewhat similar.

Sorry Joy, I don’t understand what you are seeing.  You can find the description of Zephyr Wool/Silk here

And, I’ve taken a screenshot of the page in the Master Sett Chart that Jane has on her site.  Zephyr is on the bottom of the page.  Hope this helps.

Hi Joy,

On page 3, the 30/2 Silk is used as the warp while the Zephyr yarn is used for the weft. Zephyr yarn is a mix of wool and silk so it works well with the 30/2 silk as the warp. If you’re planning on just using Zephyr for warp & weft, that info is on the screenshot that Sandra posted.

The purple & grey undulating scarf, is it made with zephyr?  What are the colors please?  I’m looking at the color card and I’m having a hard time telling which ones they are.  The scarf is amazing!!

From what I can gather, it looks like Steel & Deep Purple and yes, it’s Zephyr. It is an amazing scarf!

how were the braids done?  twisted with no knots at the end?  does the wool hold the twist over time?
