I am putting the 40/2 linen on my loom (season 3, cramming and denting). When I tied the warp onto the apron rod, and started weaving a header, several linen threads were loosey goosey. Any suggestions? Thank you!
Did you retie them and they keep behaving like that? Otherwise, as you are still at the header, that should work fine. In the worst case, I would weave back to do that.
Did you check beforehand if your knots are tight? I’m doing that in the way that I put pressure to the warp threads with my hands. This way usually any looseness in knots shows itself early on.
I did retie them all, and things are progressing more smoothly! I googled “tying on linen apron” and found several comments that linen may be wiggly at the start but should behave after the header is woven. I found this to be true!
