I’ve been playing with the idea of mixing warp thread sizes in the same cloth (for example 8/2 alternating randomly with 2/12) . Is it possible to do in the warp or is it something that would be better reserved for the weft? Anything to consider in trying this?

        Thank you!

Hi Liza – I personally haven’t done it but I don’t know why you couldn’t.  You would have to be careful with your sett but if you can wrap a ruler to determine your sett with both yarns, you would get a starting point.  Why don’t you try with a small warp with enough yardage to create a good-sized sample?  That way you can play with different wefts and resley the reed to try different setts.  Keep us posted!
