Ginette just referred to it for a question about fulling, but there is also information about a lot of the questions that come across a weaver’s path.  The Helpline grew from questions that weavers have asked Jane over the years and it’s an awesome resource.  If you aren’t familiar with it – check it out here https://janestaffordtextiles.com/faq/

I have checked out the helpline- very interesting and helpful but not sure how one asks questions that are not covered.

Jennifer,  the Helpline was originally created to work on the old JST Website.  The questions and answers have been moved “in bulk” over to the new one.  At this point, Jane’s focus is on the Online Guild and leading us all through learning the basics of starting to weave and then helping us feel confident enough in ourselves to design and weave our own unique cloth.  A lot of questions have been answered on the Helpline but if you have a question and you can’t find it there – by all means – ask it on the Online Guild Forum!  There are weavers at all skill levels that are members of the Online Guild and someone should be able to help.

My question is regarding the Jane loom.  When using the stand is  it necessary  to move the beams down onto the stand . I use the loom on the stand in my home but I am often needing to fold it for transport as I like to take it camping and boating and there is no room for the stand. I use it on a table when travelling. Jennifer

                    Hi Jennifer,

You don’t have to move the beams into the stand unless you want to put on much longer warps.  Unfortunately you can’t fold the the loom down and lock it without taking it off the stand.

                    Hope this helps.

                    Cheers,

                    Jane
