getting correct number of individual threads when making warp
I feel stumped! I’m making my warp on my warping mill for the Colour and Weave gamp Season2 sample 2. I start at the bottom of the mill to tie on and then go to the top for the cross as Jane does. When Im doing DD/LL and holding 4 threads in my hand, I cannot get to 44 unless I tie off at the cross. I have counted and recounted and I have either 10 groups of 4 (40) or 12 groups of 4(48) if I end at the bottom of the mill. The only way I can get an odd number of groups (I need 11) in order to get to the 44 is if I tie of at the cross. What am I missing here?
Hi Robyn, it’s OK to tie on a new thread or set of them at the cross! That will happen often unless you plan all your warps with even numbered sequences. Remember, Fibonacci loves odd numbers! Don’t worry about it, all will be well.
