I’m looking to make a baby blanket from Tom Knisely’s book and was wondering what the difference between 4/8 cotton and 4/8 carpet warp is. They call it 8/4, American I presume. What does everyone use for warp when they are making rag rugs? Carpet warp? Where can I find it in Canada?

Hi Arlene – Jane carries 4/8 cotton in her shop in 62 colours!  As a Guild member you also get a 10% discount in August.  I’ve never woven a rug (yet) but I’d guess are the same weight of cotton.

I’ve woven several baby blankets using Jane’s blankie kit and it’s always been a hit. https://janestaffordtextiles.com/product-category/kits-2/blankets/
