Help – my weft has a bend or U-shape to it!
I am weaving your Spring Stripes pattern tea towels – 8/2 cotton 18 EPI. I notice that my weft has a bend or U shape to it (i.e. it is not perfectly straight across). What causes this and can I fix it so that weft coloured stripes look straight?
It sounds like you might be drawing in a bit which can cause this. I beat on an open shed and I make sure that the angle of my weft is high before I beat. It may take an inch or so for that to adjust and you might also have to leave room at the selvedge for the web to be able to expand. It will not correct with just a few picks. Hope this helps.
