Can you believe it?

... already February. We ran the first set of seminars for 2010 on January 19, 20 & 21st. The first day we did it by candlelight. The power went off on Sunday night after the Gulf Islands were hit by a whooping windstorm. BC Hydro led me to believe that all would be lit again by Monday afternoon, but alas ~ students arrived from Alberta, the mainland, and Vancouver Island on Tuesday morning to a dark studio. We moved to the house where the woodstove was glowing, paid homage to all the weavers that pioneered before us and wove by candlelight without the help of their Ott lamp. It also gave us the opportunity to acknowledge how blessed we were, warm and well fed with great companionship when so much devastation is occurring in Haiti and other places in the world. Three days later, everyone left sated with ideas, enthusiasm, overloaded with information and the odd bit of chocolate.

New Year - New Prices!

I just wanted you to know that there are very few changes to prices this year. Most fibres have gone down (a couple have gone up). The big thing to note is Louet spinning wheels and looms have come down, so if you are thinking of buying one, this is the year to do it. Prices are guaranteed until August 1st, 2010. (We are working on our Price list. Coming next month).
